Pulford’s Youth program was created in response to a request by the Province to develop transition homes for youth, who are in care of a Child Welfare agency, living with a disability, who would be transitioning into the adult system upon reaching the age of majority.  The program is designed to provide continuity of service and least disruption to the youth by maintaining them in the placement once they turn eighteen.

Our program focuses on the strengths of the youth to promote independence at home and in the community, and to set and achieve their goals.  Pulford embraces the notion that people with a disability have the ability to be responsible for many aspects of daily living which the staff are committed to teaching and supporting the youth to accomplish.  Everyone at Pulford is supported in an inclusive and integrated manner to ensure access to all community resources.
